Crayon Diversity

In 2020, Crayola introduced Colors of the World, a new 24 pack of crayons. The set contains a collection of specially formulated colours representing skin tones found globally. Developed by Mimi Dixon, Crayola’s brand equity and expression manager, the colours fall into three main tonal ranges: Almond, Golden, and Rose. The new product won the Toy of the Year for most creative. “With the world growing more diverse than ever before,” says Rich Wuerthele, Crayola’s CEO, “Crayola hopes our new Colors of the World crayons will increase representation and foster a greater sense of belonging and acceptance.” Now kids can use crayon colours that more accurately depict themselves and their friends.
